Grant Received from Wal-Mart
PLYMOUTH, NH - Associates from the Plymouth Wal-Mart Supercenter presented Keeping You, Me, and Memories Alive, Inc. with a $1,000 grant on December 6, 2005.
Keeping You, Me, and Memories Alive, Inc. plans to use the funds to create gift cards for groceries, gas, heating bills, and Christmas presents for children of a deceased parent. The donation was made by Wal-Mart as part of the company's community grant program.
"Our associates were pleased to make this donation to such a worthwhile cause," said Christopher Taylor, Wal-Mart manager. "The money will be utilized for programs in the local community that we are glad to support. This is just a small part of Wal-Mart's ongoing commitment to the communities in which we operate."
With more than 90 percent of its charitable giving targeted at local communities, cash donations through Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. and the Wal-Mart and Sam's Club Foundation exceeded $170 million in 2004. Of this total amount, $61 million was given through the community grant program to help support local organizations large and small, from schools, YMCA, and other youth programs, fire departments, libraries and more.
